At Work In The Mekong Delta
18 February The following new personnel, all with MOS 95B Military Police, from CONUS (US), were assigned from the 90th Replacement Battalion via 720th MP Battalion, HQ Detachment to B Company, PVT Stephen Mortarano, PVT Gregory J. Pro, PVT Paul J. Kummerlen, PVT Gerald Davis, PVT Kevin D. O’Connor, PVT Duane V. Hegna, PVT Richard J. Bosmans, PVT Bradley J. Pyse.

1 April, Dong Tam B Company relocated the Dong Tam Provost Marshal Office to Tan An. The move and realignment enabled the MPs to be more responsive to traffic accidents and incidents and to provide greater area coverage.

9 April CPT John G. Meyer, Jr. assumed command of B Company.

March The Battalion hosted a Volley Ball Tournament on Long Binh Post and B Company sent a team to participate.

11 April SP/4 Thaddeus Dennis, B Company, was transporting a relief guard from the Can Tho Army Air Field Security Unit, to the 3rd Surgical Hospital at Binh Thuy Airbase to guard a wounded POW. While in route to the hospital the jeep ran off the roadway and overturned. SP/4 Dennis died from his injuries while being transported to the hospital, the relief guard, who was the driver of the jeep was also injured, he eventually recovered.

12 May 1SG Ronald R. Hockett assumed the duties as B Company 1SG from 1SG Ronald R. Davis.

5 August SP/4 George F. Long, II, Can Tho Detachment was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service.

9 September 1LT Anjelo J. Santella was assigned as Executive Officer (XO).

October CPT David O. Wright received command of the company from outgoing CPT John G. Meyer, Jr.

16 October, Last Battalion Casualty SP/4 Larry Floyd "Puff" Miller, B Company, Vinh Long Detachment, became the 720th MP Battalions last casualty in Vietnam when he died from injuries received when he accidentally touched a high power line while performing maintenance on an antenna on the roof of a billet in Vin Long.
