Long Binh Post

For several weeks during the start of the Communist Tet New Years Offensive, five members of the Australian Forces Vietnam (Provost) AFV PRO, Military Police from the Vung Tau Headquarters became attached to B Company, 720th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade on Long Binh Post.

During their Temporary Duty (TDY) they were billeted with B Company and joined the U.S. MPs in their convoy escort and patrol duties during the Tet Offensive in III Corps Tactical Zone.

October 2008 Reunion in Albury, New South Whales, Australia

In October, 2008 Rick Kreidler traveled down under to attend the reunion of the unit and meet the surviving members of a five man MP squad of the Australian Forces Army Provost Unit, Vung Tau, that served TDY with B Company in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive, January-February 1968. Rick described the group as great hosts who showed him the greatest hospitality. Of the original group one has since passed from our ranks and two of the four surviving members were present. These are some photographs of the reunion and the Australian MP (Provost) Corps Museum.
