Photo G3517c: Results of the controlled detonation of a 100 pound U.S. M107 155mm high explosive howitzer round hung in a tree growing on the bank of the Buong River in the 720th Military Police Battalion Tactical Area Of Responsibility in III Corps Tactical Zone, Bien Hoa Provence, Vietnam on 13 October 1968. The local Viet Cong placed the command detonated mine to destroy passing B Company river craft that used the river route. The mine was destroyed in place with a timed fuse C4 charge by 1LT Robert L.
