These boats predate the arrival of the newer PBR’s (Patrol Boat Riverine) of the U.S. Navy, then joint crews by members of the 720th MP Battalion and the 458th U.S. Army Transportation Company (PBR), 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade. If you can provide any information on these boats or their unit, please use this Email Link. Courtesy of PFC Carson J. Sabine, A Company, 720th MP Battalion, October 1966 to October 1967. 020806 These look like 45' Army Tugboats . I believe they were part of 11th Transportation Battalion. I was on an Army 65' tug and hauled ammo and petrol barges to Cogido . We had to transfer the barges to the 45' tugs because we could not go under the Bridge at Cogido.
